Scare with Blair

Well, we had a little scare with Blair Bottoms (that's what I call her) yesterday. After Physical Therapy I always look at her belly and yesterday it looked really weird. Almost like it had a blood blister under her skin. The area is probably 1x2 inches. So, I got on the phone and started making calls to all of her Dr's. Our Pediatrician here told me to take her to the ER. The ER Dr sent a picture of it to her Pediatric Surgeon at Children's in Little Rock. They want to see her in Little Rock on Monday. Yikes! I'm freaking out... although she is fine and isn't acting any different. We have to keep it wrapped again and put Silvadine cream on it until then. The Pediatric Surgeon doesn't think there is any skin under this "blood blister" and said it has the potential of rupturing... we DO NOT want that! The ER Dr said it looked like there was skin under it. So, we will see I guess on Monday. I will let the experts check it out since Dr's up here don't see this thing very often up here.

So, I have come to the decision over the last 24 hours that I will not be teaching Adventureland (Mother's Day Out) for now. I will only be helping out on Friday nights for Celebrate Recovery. I'm just too paranoid and can't leave her with anyone. Plus, I don't know what kind of follow-up appointments we will have. Also, the Surgeon told us to be very very careful with her because they don't want any friction on her belly. So, hopefully keeping it wrapped will help it!

Anyway... that's about all I have for now... I will try to get a good picture of it and show you guys.

Hugs - Tiff

Momma knows best. You did a great job keeping an eye on Blair Bottoms. Hopefully, they'll get to the bottom of this thing lickity split!
