Blair's MRI results

I spoke with Dr. Warner and these are the results that he gave me.

Blair's liver is 90% of the way in her sac and her intestines are all the way in her sac. No spleen, stomach, etc.

He said right now he doesn't want to rush surgery. He wants to postpone it until later in the year or further. He just said he doesn't want to do it and later regret it. Right now she has no issues with bowel obstructions or reflux or anything. She only requires her bottles to be thickened and that will stay like that because she breathes so fast. He also said that once she starts walking her pelvis will move and allow more room in her abdomen.

I am relieved at this decision. I sat her last night and had this peace about it and it felt like the right decision.

I have been working on some things to better educate Mother's of babies that are born with Omphalocele's. I think it's almost putting my experience on paper and letting other Mother's know the stuff that I didn't know. The things that I had to spend hours researching myself. Compression wraps... the MOO's group on Yahoo. So many things that will help other Mother's that are getting ready to go through it! So, that will keep me busy in the meantime!

Please continue to pray for her. Just healing and no future bowel obstructions!

Hugs - Tiffany

Well, I'm guessing that you are both disappointed and relieved. I'm sure it's a relief to put off the surgery, but I'm sure you're disappointed knowing that it's just being put off. I am glad that you are at peace with the decision--that's always the best thing.

Blair looks amazing and before you know it she'll be dancing at the prom.

PS: I'm was reading your before kids and after kids and mine are sooooo similar. My toenails are just sad post-children.

Whew. You can relax for now; glad to know the doctor isn't trying to rush surgery. Sounds like she is being looked after well and that's a huge relief in itself. I hope you are doing well--maybe no spa days but find a way to take care of yourself.

I'm so glad that there are no major surgeries for the time being and I hope and pray that everythnig will work itself out!

I say go for the group! What a blessing it would be to share your info with those moms out there with tons of questions! And a great way to make some lifelong friends :)
