Ice Storm

This was taken around 9:00 this morning. This is our neighbors house across the street.

This next one was taken at 11:30 so you can see how much ice has accumulated in only 2 1/2 hours!

This is our poor tree in my landscape flower bed.

Well, we are in the middle of a HUGE ice storm. I think it's the worst I've ever seen. It started yesterday afternoon and iced all last night and it's STILL sleeting! It looks like snow, but it's solid ice. The whole city is basically shut down! Britt is home with us today. 4 wheel drive doesn't do any good on this stuff. My Sister called me earlier and said they had lost power. She lives on the other side of town so she is going to my Mom's house with the boys. Here are some pictures I've been taking all morning.

This was taken at 9:00 this morning.

This next one was taken at 11:30 of the same bush!
Here are some trees behind our house across the road. They are really weighed down from all the ice! I watched a couple of big limbs break off this same tree around 9:00 this morning.
This is the "other" Jazzy cat. He's a stray that we feed and he always hisses at me when I feed him! Crazy cat!

I hope you guys make it through this with little or no damage. I love snow but ice is horrible.

Oh my goodness, I've never seen that much strait up ice! Wowza! I hope the power lines can hold the weight! Losing power is the pitts.

Isn't that crazy? I was just noticing the 2 posts! I think we are going to venture out and go to the paint store. At least if I'm going to be stuck here I might as well paint my house! I've been wanting to for a while now!

Oh, Arkansas ice storms--I can't say that I miss them, but they are kind of fun as long as you don't lose power.
