Quitting SMOKING

I've been wanting to write this post for a LONG time now! I am finally going to quit. I don't know why this addiction has had such a hold on me. I do it when I get stressed and that seems to be a LOT with Blair's condition. But, I know I need to quit for me and the girls! I went and bought the Nicoderm CQ patch yesterday and I'm going to stick with it for 8 weeks and QUIT for good! I think knowing I can't smoke while having the patch on is what I need. I tried this a few years ago and it went really well!

And, NO I don't smoke in my house or around my kids! I do it outside only when I get a chance. :)

Anyway... need lots of prayers for this!

Hugs - Tiff

Good luck with this challenge! I have the same personal battle going on, so I feel for you! It's crazy how addictive that nicotine is. I always seems to find a reason to "treat" myself with a mini cigar (my vice). The car is when it's hard for me. I have a 30 minute drive to and from work each day and it's such a habit to have one on the drive. Once I'm home with Wes, I have no desire. Or even when he's in the car with me. GOOD LUCK!

Praying very hard. I have no idea how it feels but I know that it is super hard. Stay strong.

Good for you! Congrats and good luck vibes are being sent your way. My husband quit a little over 4 years ago (cold turkey - talked himself into for several days, then walked away)...it can be done!

TJ (wife) is three weeks and one day past her decision (no .. not her decision .. her implementation) to quit smoking .. she is doing the patch .. she was already down to about 6 or 7 cigarettes a day .. so she started with step 2 ..
She actually took a draw off of her daughters cig a couple days ago and it was nasty !!
She was eating an ice cream cone from DQ last night and commented on how much better it tastes now ..

she smoked for 27 years with intermittent pregnancy related quitting (4 times) .. She has done well with the help of the patch and a generous helping of prayer ..

we are praying for you

Good Luck! I'm sure that it is extremely difficult, but I also know you can do whatever set your mind to do.

Good going stranger! That is SOOO the best decision! I gave up in November 2007 and have never looked back ... if you want me to share how I did it send me your email and I'll explain, I think you will relate to my reasoning and motivation which may well inspire you too.

At the risk of repeating myself : I SOOOOOOOOO love Blair's face on the header picture!!!

I wish you all the best of luck in kicking the habit! I have also been trying to give up the cigarettes. I have tried many different methods from patches and gum to Hypnotic tracks. I have cut down but still seem to be struggling to completely give up.
