Sorry for the delay

Thanks for all of the continuous prayers... they are MUCH appreciated and MUCH needed right now. We rushed Baylee to Little Rock on Friday. We spoke with the Cardiologist and they are wanting to do a Heart Cath on her this week. I actually just got a call from the nurse saying it would be sometime on Wednesday, but she needed someone else to call me back and give me the details of what time and everything. They are needing to do this to find out the pressure in her right ventricle. For some reason it's putting pressure on her left ventricle and causing it to be squished and not round in shape. Also, they can normally get the pressure reading off the Echo, but in her case they could not measure it. (Just our luck!) So, that's what is prompting the Heart Cath. She will more than likely stay the night in the hospital afterwards and they are also wanting to do a sleep study.
As of right now the Cardiologist said the vessels in her lungs look good and aren't constricted (causing the blood to back up in her right ventricle). After all, the right ventricle is the chamber of the heart that exports the blood to the lungs for re-oxygenation. For some reason that blood is backing up in her heart causing the RVH. Which in turn is causing the heart muscle to work harder therefore enlarging her heart.
SO.....
Scenario #1 - THIS WOULD BE THE BEST OUTCOME
The pressure would be low in her right ventricle and Baylee would need to have her tonsils and adnoids removed. Sometimes this can cause a Right Ventricular Hypertrophy. Pray very hard that this is what's causing all of her trouble.
Scenario #2 - THIS WOULD BE WORST OUTCOME
The pressure would be high in her right ventricle... AR Children's would transfer her care to Boston because it's such a rare condition. And, that's where we want treatment for her anyway! The Cardiologist here said treatment for that would be oxygen and nitric oxide the rest of her life with a possible lung transplant. Boston also has 2 Pulmonary Hypertension Specialists that only deal with this kind of condition.
So, that's all we know for now. I'm having my friend Brandy update my blogspot because my Mother-in-law's computer is broken right now.
PRAY PRAY PRAY!
Hugs - Tiff

Never thought I'd be praying to have tonsils out! I've been worried all weekend--I hope it turns out to just be the tonsils.
