The swallow study yesterday went good. We tried cross-cut nipples (like we have been using) and the Speech Pathologist also wanted to try a single-slit nipple. We found with the small cross-cut nipples (that we just started using last Friday) she was having some mid-level penetration. This just means that the milk was going half-way down her airway and then coming back out and going to her stomach. I can only imagine what the other nipples looked like that we were using before last Friday. YIKES! With the single-slit nipple she did MUCH better and was only have some very very very small penetrations. But, the Speech Pathologist didn't think it would be a concern from here going forward.
We are going to see Dr. Lyle today at 12:30 for a check-up and to see what he thinks about her still being sick. I'm sure she had some aspirations before we changed her nipples out last week.
I went to Wal-Mart last night when we got home and bought new nipples once again and cut them even smaller with the single-slit. She is still taking all of her bottles within 20 minutes. We just don't want her to go over that because then she would be burning calories.
We will be leaving right from the hospital and going home tonight so I will update when we get home!
Thanks to everyone that has been praying for her! She needs it and will continue to need it from now until the time she has her MRI on the 26th and surgery in January. She has to be well!!!!

well at least that's a bit of an answer!
I'm glad things are going okay and you're getting it all figured out!! Sounds like it's nothing TOO serious which is VERY good.
