MRI Results are IN HAND!

I just got an e-mail from our surgeons nurse to let us know that she received Blair's MRI results today! She said Dr. Warner is out the next 2 days so hopefully he will review them ASAP when he returns. I'm SO NERVOUS about all of this. I mean, after all... I'm making a decision for my child that will change her life. I still think sometimes that I can't even make a decision like that for myself let alone a small innocent child.

Blair's Omphalocele is now the size of a small cantaloupe. It's not getting any smaller as the base of it stays the same size. Nothing is encouraging her intestines to go back in and we can't put much pressure on it because it's so "mush-room-eee". I know that's not a word, but it's the best way to describe it! Anyway... I put her on the floor today to see what she would do as far as trying to crawl. We do this on occasion, but she seems to get frustrated because she can't go anywhere. Well, she rolled... all the way to the other side of the living room! Within a matter of minutes! It was cute, but sad in the same sense.

Baylee was asking me questions the other day about Blair's surgery and when they will "fix" her. I explain this to her the best I can. I mean, after all, she's almost 4 but she can't quite understand what all is going on. She thinks her belly was like that when she was a baby. And, I can't really blame her for thinking that way since she doesn't remember being a baby. But, she got really upset and said she didn't want the Dr's messing with her sissy. She said she didn't want to take her to the Dr with the bouncy balls. (That's how she refers to St. Louis Children's because of the bouncy ball thing outside of Dr. Warner's clinic) I just assured her that sissy would be fine and she had nothing to worry about. Oh the conversations you have with an almost 4 year old! She is VERY protective over Blair. She doesn't want anyone touching her or messing with her. She will even try to get in between the person and sissy (kind of how a dog does when they protect you) and start kissing and holding her!

So, less than 14 days now until surgery time! Someone bring me a drink! Just Kidding!

Hugs - Tiffany

She is in my prayers, daily! I don't have a sister and I've always envied the bond that sisters have. It's so special!
