Recipe

Thought I would put a good recipe out here for you guys... Only if you like sauerkraut and brats! It cooks in the crock-pot so it's fast and easy! My friend Sanne made this when we were in Indiana and I LOVE IT. I'm also 1/2 polish and 1/2 German so I like that kind of stuff!

32 oz jar of sauerkraut (rinse and drain well)
2 medium red potato's (cut each in 1/2 and then thinly slice)
1 medium tart apple - peeled/core (Cut in chunks the size of sugar cubes)
1 small onion diced
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 cup water
2 Tbs Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Chicken Bouillon
1 Tsp Caraway Seeds
1 Garlic Clove minced
1 Bay Leaf
1 Package uncooked beer n brats

Put all ingredients except the brats in the crock pot. Mix well. Lay the brats on top, cover and cook for 4-5 hours on high.

The brats end up being so tender there is no need to use a knife to cut them! YUMMY!

Sounds yummy! When my dad was alive, he made sauerkraut and it was so good. I made it with him a few times, so I'm tempted to try it on my own. It was so much better than the store bought kind.

I will have to agree with you! My Great Grandmother made the best sauerkraut! I would eat a ton of it when I was little! Baylee loves it and I'm SO glad she's not a picky eater!

OMG I love me some brats. I can't believe I just said OMG. But they're that good.
Hope you all are okay and that the kids are feeling well. Thinking about you, Toni
